The Secret of Ultrasonic Hardness Tester Model Selection

Hello everyone, Sinowon Ultrasonic Hardness Tester has 2 kinds of special probes, 4 kinds of manual probes of HP series, 6 kinds of motorized probes of MP series, and 7 kinds of Leeb probes can be equipped with SU-400 ultra-hardness tester. 

There are 19 types of probes, 4 types of support rings, and 4 types of stands. How should we select the right model? Here are five core elements of 

the type selection for you:

1. Weight: the national standard requires more than 300g, but according to the ten-year experience of Sinowon, we had successful cases about measuring work pieces as low as 2g.

2. Thickness: great to be more than 2mm

3. Material technology: if it is a forging process, please use it with confidence; If it is a casting process, please choose it as appropriate.

4. Surface roughness: Please inform the product roughness Ra or Rz value. If it is a machined turning milled part, please use it 

   with confidence.

5. Thickness of the coating layer: if there is a coating layer, what is the thickness of the coating layer? Is the customer's request to measure the hardness of the substrate or the hardness of the coating layer? If it is to measure the hardness of the coating, the test force of the indenter should be as small as possible. It is recommended to use MP-300 and MP-200  electric probes.

   If it is to measure the hardness of the substrate, the testing force should be large enough to ensure that the indenter can 

   penetrate completely coating thickness, effective contact to the substrate.
