According to Hoover, he has discovered conclusive evidence for life outside planet earth. Scientists have been indeed looking out for aliens and UFOs for a very long time, and an announcement such as this from a NASA scientist is more than exciting. The claim comes from Dr. Richard B. Hoover, an astrobiologist at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, who has been studying meteorites around the world for over ten years. Conclusive evidence of alien life According to Hoover, he has discovered conclusive evidence for life outside planet earth. Hoover has found fossils of bacteria in an unusually rare kind of meteorite, CI1 carbonaceous chondrite. There are only nine such meteorites found on planet Earth. Hoover studied the meteorite by breaking it apart and examining the exposed surfaces with two powerful microscopes, a scanning-electron microscope and a field emission electron-scanning microscope. After keen observation, he found fossils of a microorganism which, he believes, are remarkably similar to the ones found on the Earth. Hoover strongly believes that his discovery indicates the presence of life not only on planet Earth, but also outside it. 'The exciting thing is that they are in many cases recognizable and can be associated very closely with the generic species here on earth. 'There are some that are just very strange and don't look like anything that I've been able to identify, and I've shown them to many other experts that have also come up stump,' said Hoover. Findings challenged by other scientists Hoover was pretty sure that his findings would kick storm in the scientific community and provoke the skeptics. Anticipating this, he made his evidence and details of his research publicly available to his peers in the scientific community even before the publication of the study. Dr. Rudy Schild, editor-in-chief of the 'Journal of Cosmology' and scientist at Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics have said that he has invited 100 experts to review the study and given out a general invitation to thousands of other scientists to examine their findings and contribute their critical thoughts on the study. However, some renowned scientists have already begun to question the validity of Hoover's findings. PZ Meyers wrote in his Science Blogs that the 'Journal of Cosmology' is far from a real science journal.
