The quartzite (quartz sand) is mined from deposit quarry, then the raw materials will be transferred to a stockpile for Primary crushing. In the Primary jaw crusher, the raw quartz sand is fed via a vibrating feeder from hopper. After crushing, the quartz sand will be sieved into different grades by vibrating screen. The grain size meet the demands will be collected, while the others will be transferred to sand making machine for further crushing.

The common grain sizes of silica sand are: 0-0.5mm, 0.5-1mm,1-1.5mm, 1.5-2mm,2-4mm. This sand is widely used in building, construction and foundry industries.

If the customer needs more fine silica sand, ball mill or other grinding mill will be need to produce silica sand powder which can be used in glass making industry.

Recognizing the importance of these developments, the Metallurgical Society of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) are organizing the International Symposium on Waste Processing and Recycling in Mineral Recycling crushing equipment Industries. This is the 6th in the series of symposia with the same title organized by Medoc. It will be held with the 50th annual Conference of Metallurgists (COM), October 2-5 in Montreal, Canada.
